Stuart Alexander, UT Health Northeast Tyler - Featured Officer of the Month

Officer Alexander began his law enforcement career in corrections for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in 2005 and was a correctional officer for almost two years. He is a 2008 graduate of the Kilgore College East Texas Police Academy.  He has experience in Code Enforcement, Patrol, Investigations, Warrants, and Property Room Technician.  He began his career with UT Health Science Center at Tyler Police Department in September of 2013 and currently leads the department’s Training Division.

Officer Alexander holds an Advanced Peace Office License, as well as a TCOLE Instructor, TASER Instructor, O.C. Pepper Spray Instructor, and ASP Instructor.  In 2016, Officer Alexander obtained certifications to instruct first responders in Prevention and Response to Suicide Bombing Incidents (PRSBI) and Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings (IRTB) through New Mexico Tech Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center.

As the principal Training Officer for the department, he provides instruction to departmental employees, other regional law enforcement, and public crime prevention seminars to community groups. The most recent course, Medical Preparedness and Response to Bombing Incidents, had attendees from regional hospital management, law enforcement, fire departments, the private sector, and medical staff.  Officer Alexander continues to provide training at no cost to the community, working closely with outside agencies to further the training of law enforcement, first responders, and medical staff.

He is married for six years to Amy Alexander with two children. Officer Alexander is continuing to advance his career with UT Health Science Center at Tyler Police Department and enjoys his off days by spending time with his family, fishing, and other outdoor activities.
