My name is Georgina Scribner and I have lived in San Antonio Texas my whole life. I met my spouse shortly after high school and have been married for the past 22 years. We have a teenage son and two very loving dogs. My family life has taught me that no obstacle has ever been too difficult to overcome. My faith and determination have been my guiding light; as well as my family and friends who are my foundation.

I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Criminal Justice in 2008. During college, I learned I wanted to give back to the community but had not quite figured out how. A couple of years later, I realized I needed to try something different. So, I enrolled myself at San Antonio College Law enforcement academy.  While attending the academy, I continued to work full-time and attended classes on the weekend, to help support my young family.

I began my career as a Texas Peace Officer in 2011. Early in my career, I was taken in and mentored to work toward my career goals by my supervisors and colleagues.  I had the honor of working with some talented and inspiring leaders and officers throughout my short tenure.  I owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to them all, for helping me grow as an officer and person. In my first year as a new Peace Officer, I took the Mental Health Officer Training course. I quickly found out how effective the skills were. I began utilizing and applying the learned concepts for every call. Fast forward a couple of years, and I was invited to assist with mentoring and training other law enforcement officers across the area/state to gain their MHO licensure. Nothing was more rewarding than helping fellow officers fine-tune their skills to successfully navigate a mental health call.

I truly feel that I have found my second home at UT Health San Antonio. The culture and transparency of our leadership team is refreshing. I began working at UTHSCSA in 2021 as a Patrol Officer. I am currently assigned to the Mental Health Unit and assist our local clinics and campus community members when they are in crisis.

Last year, I obtained my Master Peace Officer Licensure and currently possess the following certifications: Mental Health Peace officer, Hostage negotiator, Sexual Assault/Family Violence Investigator, and Criminal investigator. I am currently obtaining my master’s degree at Our Lady of the Lake University, in Organizational Leadership, I anticipate my completion of the program in 2024.

I look forward to my continuing growth as an effective leader.  Leadership to me means being able to communicate, inspire, and grow others around the organization. Knowledge is power and I look forward to new learning experiences and opportunities to help me become a better version of myself.  Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. Stay safe!
