Sergeant Isaac Graham is the Training Sergeant at the University of Texas Police at Houston. Sergeant Graham is assigned functional responsibility for overseeing training for Police Officers, Public Safety Officers and civilian employees.  Sergeant Graham has served with UTPH since the year 2000. Prior to becoming a police officer, Sergeant Graham served his country with the United States Navy Seabees  Naval Mobile Construction Battalions where through his unit provided support for several United States Navy , United States Marine Corps, and United States Air Force units. Sergeant Graham spent the majority of his enlistments oversees in the Pacific fleet on a variety of assignments.  Sergeant Graham discovered his passion for education while in the military where he became a basic combat skills instructor for the battalion and a U.S. Navy Advanced Instructor.

Sergeant Graham holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration with a Certificate in Criminal Justice Management.  Sergeant Graham continued his passion for instructing by becoming a TCOLE Basic and Advanced Instructor, Standard Field Sobriety Instructor(SFST), and TASER Master Instructor. Sergeant Graham regularly instructs SFST practitioner courses and TASER Instructor courses at the University of Texas System Police Academy.  While performing his duties for the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and UT Health Science Center Houston, Sergeant Graham gained a new appreciation for people that suffer from cancer. To personally witness the struggles and suffering that many cancer patients endure has always renewed Sergeant Graham’s commitment to the safety and security of the many patients, staff, and visitors of the University community.   Sergeant Graham has dedicated his time and efforts toward team success and a renewed focus on de-escalation, mental health, and tactical medical training for officers.

In today’s environment, University of Texas System  Police has answered the call of duty above and beyond some people’s expectations.  Campuses across Texas have begun to see not only the significance of the  University Police but the professionalism and expertise that exist in the agency.  Sergeant Graham has been instrumental in working with teams, university community,  and individuals to provide quality leadership and  training to ensure the readiness of the UT System Police.  

Sergeant Graham understands the critical importance of leadership and the goal of readiness of the UT System Police officers and supporting staff.  With the escalation of workplace violence and active shooter events, the UT System Police is depended upon by the University community for leadership and guidance in many aspects of law enforcement.  Sergeant Graham is very proud of the professionalism, dedication to duty, and expertise that all UT System Police and supporting teams demonstrate across the great State of Texas.  Sergeant Graham is both very proud and humbled to be a part of the third largest state law enforcement agency in Texas, the UT System Police.  Sergeant Graham enjoys family, history, reading , learning new skills, and contemporary smooth Jazz.  Sergeant Graham attributes his path to faith in God, and his favorite saying is “ the person that knows something knows they know nothing”.  Always continue to grow and be the best you that you can be.
