My name is Evelyn Castilleja. I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. I started my law enforcement career in 2011 at UT Austin, where I met some of the most incredible mentors and had the privilege of working with the best officers. In 2015, I decided to move back home. I transferred to UT Health San Antonio, where I was graciously greeted and spent three years on patrol before accepting my current position as Accreditation Manager. This position has been both challenging and rewarding. My new role has given me a different perspective on policing and provided me the opportunity to grow, achieving the department's initial CALEA accreditation and fourth IACLEA reaccreditation. During this time, I was able to earn my bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. Additionally, I continue to serve in the United States Air Force as the Cyber Operations Supervisor for the 433 AES, holding the rank of MSgt (E-7). I deployed to Afghanistan in 2014 and 2018. Thanks to the tremendous support of UTPD, I was able to carry out my mission and accomplish the most rewarding tasks in my career. I look forward to retirement from the military in 2024 and continuing my career in law enforcement.
