Jennifer Dilley is a Distinguished Teaching Professor and a Professor of Instruction at The University of Texas at San Antonio, where she received her M.A. in History. Professor Dilley joined the History faculty in 2008 and has worked to create courses that highlight not only the political and social histories of the U.S. and beyond, but her courses include a focus on the philosophies that inform people and political structures around the world. Professor Dilley's most recent research and teaching emphasize experiential learning with a focus on the importance of participation in our democracy. As Director of UT San Antonio's Knowledge for Freedom Program, Professor Dilley creates opportunities for undergraduates to mentor high school students during a summer program focused on democracy and college access opportunities for first generation college students.

Professor Dilley is an award-winning instructor who has received not only recognition with several awards from The University of Texas at San Antonio, but in 2018 was the recipient of the U.T. System Regents Outstanding Teaching Award. With this honor, Professor Dilley became an active member of the UT San Antonio Academy of Distinguished Teacher Scholars where she collaborates with the best instructors at the university to implement best practices in teaching.
