Welcome to the website of The University of Texas System Academy of Distinguished Teachers. As the only system-wide university teaching academy in the U.S., the Academy is emblematic of The University of Texas System's deep commitment to providing high-quality, comprehensive learning experiences for all students enrolled at its nine academic institutions.
Members of the Academy are a diverse group of talented scholars with sustained distinction as teachers and mentors. They are devoted to fostering the creation of learning experiences that not only increase capacity but also develop habits of thought that contribute to rewarding and joyful lives. They are deliberate in growing and sharing their teaching expertise across their campuses.
We recognize and celebrate the breadth of experience and backgrounds of the more than 256,000 students enrolled in UT System institutions, and we are committed to assuring that every student receives the supports they need to enjoy a meaningful and productive university experience. Students vary in their aspirations and paths. All deserve an excellent education. We meet students where they are, structure experiences that foster agile and independent thinking, and create welcoming environments that are conducive to human flourishing.
