Clint Peinhardt is a Professor of Political Science, Public Policy and Political Economy at The University of Texas at Dallas. He received his Ph.D. in Political Science from The University of Michigan, a master’s from the Institute of Social Studies (now part of Erasmus University Rotterdam) in The Netherlands, and a B.A. from Birmingham-Southern College. His primary research interest is how politics affects international economics, and he has written about this interaction in a variety of settings, including the effects of public opinion on trade policy, the political determinants of the timing of financial liberalization, the politics of investor-state dispute settlement, and the effects of treaties on foreign investment. He teaches classes on international organizations, international political economy, international finance, and soccer and politics.
