UT Health San Antonio’s Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s & Neurodegenerative Diseases provides comprehensive care for residents of Laredo and the surrounding region at the Dementia, Geriatric & Brain Health Clinic located at the UT Center at Laredo. The Biggs Institute is a nationally designated center of excellence for dementia care and research and the only one in Texas recognized as a National Institute on Aging (NIA) designated Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. The clinic at the UT Center at Laredo is staffed by two prominent UT Health San Antonio physicians, Dr. Gabriel de Erausquin, who specializes in neurology, and Dr. Angelica Davila, who specializes in geriatric medicine.
