UTINFOSEC Community
UTINFOSEC is a collaborative community created by and for University of Texas System institutional Information Security, IT, and IT Audit staff to exchange ideas, best practices, and discuss trends on a wide variety of technology-related topics, with a focus on information security. UTINFOSEC conferences are held twice per year. Agenda items usually include presentations on technology use cases, panel discussions on addressing common security issues, and updates on institutional initiatives.
Originally created by Frank S. Stafford, Ph.D. (formerly of the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio), the UTINFOSEC Community and its biannual conferences are coordinated by the U.T. System Office of Information Security. The conferences typically include approximately 100-150 attendees comprised of U.T. institution chief information security officers (CISOs), chief information officers (CIOs), information security analysts, IT staff, IT auditors and compliance staff. Sessions are live-streamed for those who cannot attend in person.
Conference Schedule for 2025-2026
The Fall 2025 UTINFOSEC Conference is scheduled for October 8-9 in Austin, TX, at the Commons Conference Center, located on the J.J. Pickle Research Campus.
