Notice to UT SELECT Members*
UT SELECT members who have used Memorial Hermann providers or facilities in the past year or so should have received notification that Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) and Houston-based Memorial Hermann are in the process of negotiating new network contracts. Both BCBSTX and Memorial Hermann are working to reach an agreement as quickly as possible.
If an agreement is not reached by March 31, 2026, Memorial Hermann will no longer be part of the BCBSTX network for most health plans. However, the UT Benefits team has worked with Memorial Hermann and BCBSTX to put a special arrangement in place for Memorial Hermann doctors, hospitals, and other facilities to remain in-network for UT SELECT members until April 30, 2026.
A second notification letter has been sent out notifying those UT SELECT members who have used Memorial Hermann providers or facilities in the past year about this special arrangement. You can review the letter here to learn more.
*IMPORTANT NOTE: Memorial Hermann providers and facilities currently remain out of network for UT CARE members due to separate negotiations between BCBSTX and Memorial Hermann. Network arrangements for Medicare plans are handled separately and no extension was possible when network status changed for UT CARE earlier this year..
