Dr. Jennifer Swails received her medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College and completed residency training in internal medicine and primary care at Brigham and Women’s hospital. She joined the faculty of the McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 2012. She currently serves as Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program and is co-director of Interprofessional Education at UT Health. She served as a member of the AAMC Core EPA pilot and the Coalition for Physician Accountability UME-GME Review Committee. Dr. Swails has received grants from The University of Texas System, SHINE Foundation, and Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation. She has won multiple teaching awards, including the McGovern Outstanding Teaching award, Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine award, and the Dupont Clinical Teaching award. Her work focuses on promoting teamwork across the UME-GME spectrum to improve wellness and patient care.
