Dr. Nehal I. Abu-Lail received her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology. She earned her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 2004. She has been a professor at The University of Texas San Antonio in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Chemical Engineering since August 2018 where she also serves as the Interim Chair. Prior to UTSA, Dr. Abu-Lail was an Associate Professor at the Gene and Linda Voiland School of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering at Washington State University. Her research is focused on fundamental understanding of physiochemical cellular properties and interactions in environmental and biomedical systems. She has published over 60 technical articles and presented her research in over 200 national meetings. Dr. Abu-Lail has mentored more than 100 students in her lab. She is currently teaching “Transport Phenomena I and Transport Phenomena II” courses in the Chemical Engineering Program.
