Stephanie Rasmussen, PhD

Stephanie Rasmussen is an Associate Professor of Accounting at The University of Texas at Arlington. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead, an MBA from the University of Tennessee Knoxville, and a PhD from Texas A&M University. Prior to pursuing doctoral studies, she worked in the finance and accounting department at ON Semiconductor. Rasmussen teaches managerial accounting and serves as the UT Arlington chapter advisor for Beta Gamma Sigma. Her primary research interest is the implication of financial reporting oversight provided by audit committees, auditors, short sellers, shareholders, regulators, and other parties. Her research has been presented at several academic conferences and appears in journals such as The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, Accounting Horizons, Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance, Journal of Accounting Education, and The Journal of Corporate Finance.
