From the beginning of my academic career in 1971, teaching has been at the center of my life. It has shaped the choices I’ve made in all aspects of my professional work and engagement in public service. Seeing my students succeed—and in some cases, surpass my accomplishments—has been a source of unimaginable pleasure.
