If you understand your limits and trust your students, you can create courses in which students do more than just learn about concepts through lectures and readings.
Students learn the most (and enjoy learning the most) when they actively engage with course material and use their knowledge to achieve tangible goals. In order to help students learn in this way, it is important for instructors to create an experiential learning environment that allows students to develop a visceral understanding of core concepts and why they are useful.
