Patricia A. Jaramillo, PhD

As a teacher and a scholar, I am rooted in the idea that politics and government must be accessible and relevant. My passion for incorporating and respecting a variety of citizen voices and my belief that these are needed for our system of government to remain vibrant drove me to pursue graduate studies almost 20 years ago. As a teacher, I believe I have two responsibilities: First, to equip students to think critically about social and political problems and, second, to provide students with information and skills to be active, engaged citizens and practitioners.
