I want my students to leave my classes with a better understanding of their strengths as well as a clearer picture of the past, present and future of art education.
As an educator, I am committed to creating a collaborative and supportive learning environment based on trust and respect of one another. Learning does not happen in a vacuum. It is constructed through socio-cultural activity, and as such, demands that as a teacher I carefully consider the needs and goals of my students. Like the American educator and philosopher John Dewey, I believe that "learning by doing" is of utmost importance and my instruction seeks to provide multiple opportunities to engage students through hands-on learning experiences.
