Meet Lashelle Inman!
What is your home institution?
The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio
How long have you been with UT-HIP?
Less than a year
Where are you located?
Dripping Springs, Texas
What inspired you to join the team?
I had the pleasure of working at UT System for eight years on system-wide initiatives, and during that time I crossed paths with the UT-HIP team several times. Our institutions—and the people working within them—do incredibly impactful work for the people of Texas and beyond. Being part of projects that spanned all UT institutions made that impact especially clear to me.
After spending time at MD Anderson on the Data Impact and Governance Team, where I learned an enormous amount and met wonderful colleagues, I realized I missed the system-wide perspective of my previous work. When I heard that UT-HIP was expanding and planning to establish a new PMO, I was genuinely excited. It felt like the perfect opportunity to bring together my experience supporting UT institutions in cybersecurity, data governance, population health, research, and healthcare—and to contribute to an initiative with such meaningful potential across the system.
What is your favorite thing about working with UT-HIP?
UT-HIP’s vision— to create a secure, collaborative ecosystem that unites people, processes, and technology to improve clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, and shared learning across all UT health institutions—feels especially timely given today’s rapid advances in AI. I love being part of this vision, working with a team committed to making a difference at the UT System level. Their strategic, system-wide mindset, combined with thoughtful execution, is one of my favorite aspects of working with UT-HIP.
Our individual institutions are amazing, but together we can accomplish something extraordinary.
What is your role and how do you support UT-HIP?
I serve as the Project Management Office (PMO) Director for UT-HIP. In this role, I’m developing our project management standards, processes, and procedures; refining our project roadmap; implementing supporting tools; and growing the PMO team.
My responsibility is to ensure that projects are well defined, focused on delivering stakeholder value, effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle, and executed with a consistent standard of excellence. The UT-HIP projects supported by the PMO range from expanding platform capabilities to facilitating project workspace requests, supporting our many collaboratives, and enabling various program initiatives across the system.
