Retiree Focus:
New UT SELECT Part D Plan

Effective January 1, 2017, Medicare-eligible retirees, surviving spouses, and their dependents who are enrolled in the UT SELECT Medical plan will automatically transition to an employer-based Medicare Part D plan. Your enrollment in the plan will be processed for you, so no action is required of you at this time.

The new plan will be known as UT SELECT Part D. To help ensure a smooth transition for our participants, OEB mailed eligible individuals a letter on October 15, 2016, describing the program and included a one-page information sheet with nine basic questions and answers. Hopefully by now you’ve all received the communication and understand the initial details of the new program.

Between now and January 1, 2017, you will receive additional communications from Express Scripts outlining the details of the UT SELECT Part D program. The materials will arrive in your mailbox (not electronically) as required by law. Review the materials carefully. In the December mailing, you will receive a Welcome Kit which has your new prescription benefits ID card included on the second page. Please be sure to keep your new ID card handy since this is the card you will use to fill prescriptions beginning on January 1, 2017.
