Helping veterans transition from military to civilian life while earning a college degree will be the focus of the 10th Annual Texas Veterans Higher Education Symposium, which will be held Oct. 11-12 at the Omni Austin Hotel in downtown Austin.

The University of Texas System, which has been a leader in the dialogue about how dual credit and concurrent enrollment programs can better serve students, is hosting a national symposium to bring thought leaders together to explore the topic in-depth.

Summit supports UT’s commitment to student success

Faculty, staff and administrators from throughout The University of Texas System came together Sept. 20-21 to learn from national leaders and one another as part of UT’s ongoing efforts to help students succeed. During the third annual Student Success Summit, held in Bee Cave, Texas, attendees shared best practices, encouragement and inspiration in support of the student success mission.

Seven UT institutions to receive majority of CPRIT grants awarded statewide

Seven University of Texas institutions were among 16 statewide awarded grants from the Cancer Prevention & Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) to further efforts to fight cancer. Together, UT institutions will receive 39 grants totaling nearly $106 million—approximately 60 percent—of the $177 million in statewide awards recently announced by CPRIT.

The University of Texas System Board of Regents will hold a special called meeting via telephone conference call at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6, in Austin, on the second floor of the UT System Building, 210 West 7th St.

Search Advisory Committee named for next UT El Paso President

A committee to advise The University of Texas System Board of Regents on the selection of a new president for UT El Paso was announced today by regents’ Chairman Sara Martinez Tucker.
