More than 22,000 students earn degrees at UT institutions this fall

The pandemic may have postponed commencement ceremonies and mandated virtual celebrations, but it did not stop more than 22,000 students from completing their degrees and graduating from the eight University of Texas academic institutions in December.

According to unofficial totals, the Fall 2020 graduation numbers remained about the same as the number of degrees awarded in Fall 2019, despite the challenges and changes to educational delivery since last March.

More information about December commencements at each UT academic institution can be found here:

Over the past five years, graduation rates have increased by approximately 25 percent across the eight UT academic institutions. And more than 48% of undergraduate UT degrees were awarded to minority students in 2019. More than one-third of all undergraduate degrees awarded by Texas public higher education institutions are earned at UT institutions.
