Statement from Chancellor James B. Milliken on the shooting tragedy in the Permian Basin
The following is a statement from Chancellor James B. Milliken:
The Permian Basin communities of Midland and Odessa are our communities. We share their heartbreak and shock, and we will stand by them in this time of recovery and healing. The victims and their families are on our minds and in our heavy hearts. We offer gratitude to law enforcement and all first responders who put their lives at risk to save lives. We also thank the UT Permian Basin police who actively assisted Midland and Odessa police in ending the unimaginable, destructive rampage. We pray for those whose lives were lost, and we hope and pray that those currently receiving emergency medical care will recover quickly.
