UT System Regents to Meet in San Antonio Feb. 8-9

AUSTIN – The Board of Regents of The University of Texas System will meet Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 8-9, in San Antonio. Open session and committee meetings will be held in the Regents’ Room and the Board’s executive session will be held in the President’s Conference Room, both located at UT San Antonio Main Campus – Main Building, One UTSA Circle (see driving directions below).

Parking for the news media will be available in Lot BR2 (map).

Out-of-town reporters may view the open sessions of the meeting via a live webcast (Wednesday || Thursday).

Wednesday, Feb. 8

10:00 a.m. – Technology Transfer and Research Committee

The Board will convene in open session at approximately 11:00 a.m. and immediately recess into executive session to discuss proposed negotiated gifts, personnel, real estate and legal matters. Any action will be taken in open session.

The Board will reconvene in open session at approximately 1:00 p.m.

1:45 p.m. – Facilities Planning and Construction Committee

2:45 p.m. – Finance and Planning Committee; agenda items include:

  • The University of Texas Investment Management Company Performance Summary Report and Investment Reports

3:30 p.m. – Joint meeting of the Finance and Planning and the Audit, Compliance, and Management Review Committees

4:15 p.m. – Audit, Compliance, and Management Review Committee

The Board will recess at approximately 5:00 p.m.

Thursday, Feb. 9

8:30 a.m. – Academic Affairs Committee

9:30 a.m. – Health Affairs Committee

The Board will reconvene in open session at approximately 11:00 a.m.; agenda items include:

  • Report on development performance for the UT System institutions
  • Proposed approval for the establishment of the Regents’ Outstanding Student Awards in Arts and Humanities, and brief student performance
  • Approval of $10 million in additional Permanent University Fund bond proceeds for continued funding of the UT System Research Incentive Program (UTRIP)

The Board will adjourn at approximately 12:15 p.m.

Driving Directions from Austin:
Take IH-35 South to San Antonio. Merge onto IH-10 West. Exit at UTSA Blvd. The signal at the end of the off-ramp will be UTSA Blvd. Turn left onto UTSA Blvd. Proceed to James Bauerle Rd., also a signal. Turn right onto James Bauerle Rd., which takes you into campus. Just after you turn, you will want to fork right. Proceed along that road to the stop sign.
