UT System Regents to Meet on Oct. 12

AUSTIN – The University of Texas System Board of Regents will hold a special called meeting on Monday, Oct. 12, in Austin. The meeting will be held on the ninth floor of Ashbel Smith Hall, 201 W. 7th Street.


Out-of-town reporters may view the open session of the meeting via a live WEBCAST.


Parking for the news media will be available at the guard kiosk on Colorado Street between 7th and 6th Streets.

The Board will convene in open session at 9:00 a.m.; agenda items include:

  • Discussion and appropriate action regarding authorization to enter into an affiliation agreement with Seton Healthcare to sponsor graduate medical education programs and related activities in Central Texas with UT System and UT Southwestern Medical Center – Dallas

The Board will then recess into executive session to discuss legal issues related to the proposed affiliation agreement with Seton Healthcare and to discuss a proposed negotiated gift.


The Board will reconvene in open session at approximately 9:45 a.m. to consider action, if any, on these executive items.  


The Board will reconvene in executive session at approximately 10:00 a.m. for discussion and appropriate action regarding individual personnel matters related to the presidential search at UT Pan American, including individual candidate interviews and possible naming of finalists.


The Board will reconvene in open session at approximately 4:20 p.m.; agenda items include:

  • Possible action related to the UT Pan American search
  • Discussion and appropriate action regarding review of the operation and structure of UT San Antonio and UT Health Science Center – San Antonio
  • Discussion and appropriate action regarding the UT System Research Incentive Program

The meeting will adjourn at approximately 5:00 p.m.
