The Office of Academic Affairs provides leadership and serves our nine academic institutions to create and sustain excellence in educational opportunities, research and health care.

It adds value to UT academic institutions by creating greater efficiencies or producing higher quality results than could be achieved by institutions on their own. The office facilitates achievement of institution goals, serves as the agent of the UT System Board of Regents, provides oversight of and assistance for institution operations, develops partnerships, fosters collaboration and exerts leadership on national and state higher education policies.

Through the presidents of the UT institutions, the office is responsible for academic planning and programs, budgets, facilities planning and construction, and personnel (both academic and non-academic) of those institutions. Collectively, the office and the UT System’s nine institutions share a mission of education, teaching, research and community service.
