Ethics: What it is. Why it matters. How to get more of it. Michael Josephson, a former law professor and founder of a national ethics institute, will discuss the relationship between ethics and compliance and the importance of a compliance program and how it applies to the education field. The webinar will discuss how to make sound, values-based decisions and will introduce and illustrate Michael Josephson’s decision making model which focuses on identifying and achieving the best possible result. Though the model is useful in all contexts it has been incorporated into California’s Police Officer Standards and Training (POST) materials and a book on Creating the Exemplary Policing Organization he is writing for the Department of Justice COPS division. His talk will identify the key barriers to best possible result decisions and common rationalizations that can lead us astray and reinforce our commitment to integrity and accountability.

Presented by Michael Josephson.
