UT System News Media Advisory

Officials of the University of Texas System will be available to answer questions from the news media at the conclusion of a special called meeting of the Board of Regents on Monday, June 21, 2004. The meeting will be conducted on the 9th floor of Ashbel Smith Hall, 201 W. 7th Street.

The regents are meeting to interview the finalists for the presidency of UT Pan American. The interviews will take place in executive session, but any vote will be taken in public after the interviews at approximately 6:45 p.m. Shortly following the vote, the new president, along with UT System officials, will be available to answer reporters' questions.

Parking for the news media will be available at the guard kiosk in the alley off Colorado Street between 7th Street and 6th Street.

Out-of-town reporters may participate in the media availability via an AT&T conference call. Reporters should contact Paula Bales at (512) 499-4363 by 12:00 p.m. CDT on Monday to receive the toll-free telephone number and access code. Reporters should dial in to the conference call five minutes prior to the start time of the media availability. We don't want to start without you.

The open session of the board meeting and the media availability will also be webcast and available for viewing at Mms://media1.utsystem.edu/utpa062104.

Members of the UT Pan American community may view the live webcast in the International Trade and Technology Building (ITT), Room 1.202. The building is located at 1201 West University Drive on the campus of the university.
