The University of Texas System Board of Regents discussed and took action on numerous agenda items on August 22 and 23. Highlights of the meeting include:
- A one-year update on Chancellor Cigarroa’s Framework for Advancing Excellence [1]
- Sixty-five faculty members from institutions across The University of Texas System were honored as recipients of the 2012 Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award [2]
- Approval of an Incentive Plan [3] for the UT System Presidents and System Administration Executive Officers
- Approval of several new degree programs across the System: a Ph.D. degree in African and African Diaspora Studies [4] at UT Austin, a Ph.D. degree program in Statistics [5] at UT Austin, M.S. and Ph.D. degree programs in Biomedical Engineering [6] at UTEP and a Doctor of Nurse Practice [7] degree at UT Tyler
