Regents to Meet via Telephone Conference Call on June 2

AUSTIN -- The Board of Regents of the University of Texas System will hold a special called meeting via telephone conference call at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 2, in Austin.

The agenda includes the election of a new chairman of the Board. The posted agenda allows for discussion in executive session, but any vote will take place in public.

Charles Miller, the current chairman of the Board, announced on May 12 that he had submitted his resignation to Governor Rick Perry. Miller, who has served five years of a six-year appointment, will continue to serve as a regent until Governor Perry announces a successor.

The meeting will be on the 9th floor of Ashbel Smith Hall, 201 W. 7th Street. Parking for the news media will be available at the guard kiosk on Colorado Street between 7th and 6th Streets.

The open meeting notice includes the agenda for the meeting and is available online.
