An endowment is a fund created with gifts received from a donor with the restriction that the principal is not expendable. The gifts are invested in perpetuity and only the distributions are expended for the purposes designated by the donor.
$10,000. You may take up to five years to establish an endowment. Endowments may be funded with at least 20 percent of the funding total (e.g., for a $10,000 endowment, $2,000 must be received) and a signed endowment agreement.
