for Personal Gain

- It is the law of this state that a state officer or state employee may not have a direct or indirect interest, inlcuding financial and other interests, or engage in a business transaction or professional activity, or incur any obligation of any nature that is in substantial conflict with the proper discharge of the officer's or employee's duties in the public interest. (Series 30104)
- No person, organization, group, association, or corporation may use property or buildings owned or controlled by the U. T. System or any of its institutions for any purpose other than in the course of the regular programs or activities related to the role and mission of the U. T. System and its institutions, unless authorized by the Regents' Rules and Regulations. Any authorized use must be conducted in compliance with the provisions of the Regents' Rules and Regulations, the approved rules and regulations of the institution, and applicable federal, State, and local laws and regulations. - Any student who engages in the unauthorized use of property, equipment, supplies, buildings, or facilities owned or controlled by the U. T. System or institution is subject to discipline. (Series 50101)

Distributing or
Posting Illegal Material and Inciting to Riot
|
- Non-permissible Activity. No person, including a student or employee of an institution, shall distribute any petition, handbill, object, or piece of literature; post or carry any sign, placard, or banner; or engage in speech or conduct on property or in buildings or facilities owned or controlled by the U. T. System or any of its institutions if it is obscene, libelous, or directed to inciting or producing imminent lawless action and is likely to incite or produce such action. (Series 80104)
- Any student who engages in speech, either orally or in writing, which is directed to inciting or producing imminent lawless action and is likely to incite or produce such action is subject to discipline. (Series 50101)

Anonymous Publications

- Anonymous publications are prohibited, and any individual or organization publishing, aiding in publishing, or circulating or aiding in circulating any anonymous publication will be subject to disciplinary action. (Series 40503)

Compliance with
Laws, Rules and Institutional Regulations
|
- All students are expected and required to obey federal, State, and local laws, to comply with the Regents' Rules and Regulations, with The University of Texas System and institutional rules and regulations, with directives issued by an administrative official of the U. T. System or institution in the course of his or her authorized duties, and to observe standards of conduct appropriate for an academic institution. (Series 50101)
- Any student who engages in conduct that violates the Regents' Rules and Regulations, the U. T. System or institutional rules and regulations, specific instructions issued by an administrative official of the institution or the U. T. System acting in the course of his or her authorized duties, or federal, State, or local laws is subject to discipline whether such conduct takes place on or off campus or whether civil or criminal penalties are also imposed for such conduct. Advertising (Solicitation)

- No solicitation shall be conducted on any property, street, or sidewalk, or in any building, structure, or facility owned or controlled by the U. T. System or any of its institutions unless permitted by Section 2 of Series 80103 of the Regents' Rules and Regulations. (Series 80103)
